The Iris Lounge Blossoms Year Round

It's hard to find a place that appeals to everyone, but the Iris Lounge in Tysons Corner does what it can to cover the bases. Featuring a well stocked bar downstairs, they also have a sushi bar, pool tables, and a cigar room upstairs. Having such a diverse selection of features might seem a bit unexpected to some, but Tysons Corner is by no means populated by one type, and the Iris Lounge brings in all types. With its corrugated metal warehouse exterior the Iris Lounge often surprises new comers with its diversified options and quality ambiance. The main room retains a vintage look with soft lighting and a wood grain bar while still appealing to the younger crowd with its massive dance floor.

The sushi menu is approachable as well being priced quite reasonably for what they offer. The sushi menu includes a sake list with such options as the Moonstone Plum sake and the Hana Fuji Apple sake. The sushi bar is not the only food they have to offer. They also feature such bar favorites such as spicy calamari, firecracker shrimp, and chicken tenders. Another reason folks keep coming back to the Iris is their weekly specials such as Monday night all you can eat barbecue ribs.

For the pool crowd, the billiards room is softly lit and houses four tables which patrons can rent at $10 an hour per table. The entire room is large enough for 150 people and can be rented with packages such as all four tables for three hours and unlimited hors d'voeurs for the first hour and a half. This room is often utilized by birthday parties and bachelor parties and companies looking to bring out the whole team for some rest relaxation and encouragement.

Another popular reason for becoming a regular at the Iris Lounge is the dancing. Every Tuesday they host Salsa lessons from 8:00 to 9:30 and Salsa dancing from 9:30 til 2:00 AM. Every weekend their dance floor is filled with young people gyrating to the latest DJ tracks. They are also known for such yearly events as their Mardi Gras party, Valentines day, and the Monster's Ball. Every Wednesday is Jazz night featuring Jaared Arosemena, and Thursdays feature the Efi Tovia Experience which is a rotating group of musicians under the musical direction of keyboardist and vocalist Efraim Tovia.

The Rocky Patel cigar room is upstairs where you can smoke the finest hand rolled cigars from a selection of over twenty varieties while enjoying twenty year old single barrel scotch. Regulars are enchanted by the cigar room manager and bartender Stephanie, who is known for her attentiveness, courtesy, and unbeatable Manhattans.

One way in which they manage to give back to the community is by hosting fundraisers. In the past some such fundraisers have included Saint Baldrick's Cancer awareness event. More recently Zerin Business Consulting held their second annual Casino Night where they raised funds for Project Smile by raffling off different prizes donated by local businesses. The entire place is dedicated to style and grace, so their dress code comes as no surprise entailing such tasteful requirements as no work boots or flip flops, no plain white tees, no ball caps, and no excessively baggy clothes, so if you are lucky enough to enjoy an evening at the Iris Lounge you'll be sure to be immersed in the classiness that Tysons Corner has come to represent.
