Robert Herjavec Provides Valuable Insight in Latest Book

Shark Tank star’s first US book release races to the top of the charts.

To most people, Robert Herjavec is best known as “the nice shark” on ABC’s hit business and entrepreneur show, “Shark Tank.” Newer fans may know him from his stint on last season’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Within the business world, he is highly respected as the Founder and CEO of Herjavec Group, a global information security services company very recently ranked #2 on the Cybersecurity 500.

Herjavec previously had two best-selling books in Canada and “You Don’t Have to Be a Shark:  Creating Your Own Success” is his first US book release published May 17. In his third publishing effort, the book was instantly in the Top 100 and trending upwards. What else would you expect from one of the most savvy and likable entrepreneurs in the world? Herjavec took the time to tell City Brand Media about his new book and how anyone can be successful if they know where to focus their attention, understand their strengths and weaknesses and are able to take calculated risks. “You Don’t Have to Be a Shark” almost reads like a love letter to salespeople and entrepreneurs from a trusted and respected man who has seen just about everything in business.

 

The idea of the book was born out of a belief. “It all stemmed from a conversation I had with an executive at ABC,” Herjavec explains. “She mentioned that she wished she was born to sell like I was and I corrected her. I don’t believe that you’re born to be successful, born to be an entrepreneur or born to sell. I think you can make yourself into anything you set your mind to.” 

 

He continues, “We turned the idea into a segment for ABC’s ‘20/20’ and the response was incredible. I knew we had a concept we could work with and so I started pitching a book. ‘You Don’t Have to be a Shark’ is all about sales tips for the non sales person. It teaches you how to create your own success – no matter your situation and business experience.”
